Adapting to a Changing World · 2–7 June 2024 · Madison, Wisconsin, USA
The world is rapidly changing. The accelerating tempo of climate change, eutrophication, altered hydrological regimes, overharvest, and biodiversity loss are threatening aquatic ecosystems, water resources, and resultant human well-being. Effectively adapting to meet these challenges will require major transitions in both our thinking and how we manage aquatic ecosystems to build resilience. Sustainable solutions—those that work across sectors, nations, and generations—will emerge from a foundation of actionable aquatic science.
Meeting Schedule
We look forward to having a dynamic meeting focused on aquatic ecosystems in a changing world, and how aquatic organisms, ecosystems, and management are adapting to global environmental change. The ASLO 2024 Aquatic Sciences Meeting will be an in-person meeting, beginning on Sunday with an opening plenary and reception, then concluding on Friday – with the scientific program scheduled Monday through Friday.
Abstract Submission
Abstract Submission is now closed. Thank you to eveyone who submitted!
Workshops, Town Halls, and Other Auxiliary EventsThe organizers of the meeting encourage the submission of requests for town halls, workshops, social events, student/early career events, and other auxiliary meetings. These events should be planned during lunch or possibly in the evening. Meeting room space will be complimentary if there are rooms available. All other costs will not be covered. Even if space is not available at the MTCCC, you may still organize your own meeting or activity at an alternative location. Auxiliary event applications will be reviewed by the meeting chairs and members of the scientific committee. Organizers will be contacted in 2024 with acceptance and details about their event. All session organizers who attend the meeting must register and be able to fund their own registration, travel, and accommodation. At least one organizer from each session must attend and oversee your session during the meeting. If you have questions about the application or an event that you are planning, please contact Martin Jimenez at mjimenez@aslo.org. |
