Unraveling Algal Bloom Dynamics in Lakes Over Time
Dr. Grace Wilkinson is an Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Center for Limnology. Her research focuses on understanding the dynamic links between lakes and their surrounding landscapes as they shape ecosystem resilience, algal blooms, and carbon cycling. Through her research, Wilkinson aims to provide insights and practical solutions to guide the management and conservation of freshwater resources. To achieve this her team uses a combination of whole-ecosystem experiments, long-term monitoring, and community-based research to improve understanding of how freshwater ecosystems are responding to environmental change.
Alfred C. Redfield Lifetime Achievement Award Talk
The Alfred C. Redfield Lifetime Achievement Award honors major, long-term achievements in the fields of limnology and oceanography, including research, education, and service to the community and society. Dr. Michael Pace is the recipient of the 2025 Redfield Award for substantial contributions to fundamental understanding of food webs, nutrient cycling, and primary productivity in lakes, rivers and oceans and their implications for management and conservation, and for important services to the aquatic sciences community.
